Foundation Dance Classes (Children in their Reception Year)

Foundation Dance (Thursdays 4pm) is for any child who is in their Reception/ Foundation year at school. The children are age 4 and 5 in this class and we aim to build confidence and develop movement skills in theatrical dance styles. Creativity is encouraged and we love to try the children’s dance ideas! We include Ballet and Modern in our curriculum and use lots of different music styles and themes to allow the children’s imagination to flourish. We can’t wait to see you!

On a child’s first lesson to the term’s theme, they will be given all the props that they need for the term and ask please that they are brought to every class. For a trial session, children can wear whatever they would like to and the only requirement is that it is clean on that day and there is something on the feet, such as ballet shoes, house slippers, jazz shoes etc. Hair must be tied back from the face with a hair band/ hair clips etc away from the mouth. Once settled in the class, children should wear a purple leotard as a base layer and can accessorise with their own choice of skirt, tutu, tights, leggings etc.

Trial sessions (£6) can be booked by emailing bopaboutdance@gmail.com. If you would like to continue for the rest of the term, children will receive a bag with all the props they will need for the term so they can dance at home too. Fees are non-refundable and cannot be transferred.
