In our fun and relaxed Dance classes for children, we aim to build confidence and develop movement skills. Creativity is encouraged and we love to try the children’s dance ideas! We include Modern, Ballet and Jazz in our curriculum and use lots of different music styles and themes to allow the children’s imagination to flourish. We are maintaining social distancing and working to keeping everybody as covid-safe as possible. We can’t wait to see you!
On a child’s first lesson, they will be given all the props that they need for the term and ask please that they are brought to every class. Children can wear whatever they would like to and the only requirement is that it is clean on that day and there is something on the feet, such as ballet shoes, house slippers, gripped socks etc. Hair should be back from the face with a hair band/ hair clips etc away from the mouth.
In April and May, we’d love you to join us as we adventure through Wonderland with Alice! Along the way, we’ll meet the White Rabbit, Caterpillar, Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter, and Queen of Hearts. We’ll be working on communicating emotions through dance and building co-ordination skills in our ‘Wonderland obstacle course’. The children have the opportunity to free dance in a celebratory unbirthday dance, as well as a performance dance set in a rose garden.
In June and July, we’ll meet the Little Mermaid in an under and over the sea adventure dancing! We’ll journey with her as she saves the prince and falls in love, makes a deal with the sea witch, and becomes human for the very first time. This month, we also focus on teaching students about performance skills as we get ready to show our dances in our end of year performance.

Our classes take place in the Main Hall in the Bradford on Avon Youth Centre. While we cannot allow parents in the room, three doors will be open in the Hall so you are welcome to glance in at any time. Parents are welcome to wait in our foyer area with face coverings or can make use of our outside space. For those with siblings to entertain, there is the Victory Field park across the road, dog walking field behind and Canal towpath next door. If you are going off site, please just let me know and leave 2 contact telephone number.
To find out more or to book a trial session (£4), please email email@example.com
*This session falls on Election Day and so we are unable to use the Youth Centre as polling will be taking place in the Hall. Instead our class on Thursday 6th May will take place on Victory Field by the Pavilion if the weather is good or on Zoom if the weather is wet.
** Our end of year performance is being held In the afternoon of Sunday 11th July subject to the most up to date government guidance. The performance is an opportunity for family members who normally don’t see the children dancing in their normal weekly classes to see what we get up to and celebrate their achievements. The children will only be performing with others who are in the same class as them in a short 30 minute relaxed performance. All children will be loaned a special tutu to wear for the show and receive a certificate and keepsake gift at the end. As government guidance is dependent on the previous Lockdown easing step being successfully met, I will release further information closer to the time to confirm the plan. At the moment I have two venues booked, one indoor and one outdoor to keep our options open.
Following a trial session (£4), an email will be sent including all the information if you would like to continue classes for the remainder of the term. All props, costume hire, show fees are included; there are no extra costs.
