Mums and Babies

Our new ‘Baby Bop’ Dance class is there to help parents get connected and have some fun moving together! In our classes we’ll be having a boogie together and babies are welcome to be worn in a sling/baby carrier. ( If your baby is happier in a pram or car seat; that’s absolutely fine too!) I am a mum too and while my children are a little older now (3 & 7), I can only imagine how challenging the last few months particularly must have been for mums with babies as so many postnatal services and groups are unable to meet as result of the pandemic. If you are a mum with a little one under 1, I hope we can build a community together while releasing some endorphins with some wiggling for our wellbeing!

When Lockdown restrictions are lifted, we’ll be meeting in person on Fridays at the Bradford on Avon Youth Centre. To register your interest and book a trial session, please email bopaboutdance@gmail.com.

To ensure we are working as safely as possible, please wear a face covering as you come into the Youth Centre. Once inside, please wash and sanitise your hands; the bathrooms are available. There is a large foyer where you are welcome to feed or change your baby; please take nappies home with you. Whenever you are ready, please bring everything with you (prams etc!) into the Hall and choose a chair. You can take off your face covering once in the Hall as we will all have our own dance spaces. We welcome interactions with other parents and ask please that you keep your 2m distance while doing so. In our session, we will be doing lots of gentle bopping about with a relaxing stretch towards the end. No previous dance experience is required and in terms of clothing; anything that you feel comfortable moving in is great!
